- Hospital Chaplaincy
Steve Fagan is employed by Anglicare in the full-time position of Chaplain to the Hospitals of the Illawarra and Shoalhaven, a position also partly funded by the NSW State Health. He has been an ordained Anglican and parish preaching minister for over 20 years.
Steve writes: "As a member of the Kingdom of God I write briefly and simply to raise your awareness of the ministry of Chaplaincy being provided in a Hospital near you. Members of your congregation may well be admitted into Hospital and find that their faith in God is severely challenged. Your Hospital Chaplains can bring them the comfort of God's love through His precious Christ-centred Word and their caring presence. I would be pleased to arrange a Chaplain to visit a member of your congregation in Hospital."
The members of interdenominational teams of Hospital Chaplains are trained through the required course of Clinical Pastoral Education. All up, 94 volunteer Chaplains are located in the nine Public Hospitals stretching from Coledale to Milton.

- Youth Publicity through Local Newspapers
Katy Stone writes... “I am contacting you in regards to a new youth section that I am wanting to start in the next couple of weeks for the local newspapers of the Illawarra. I am with Southern Independent Publishers and we publish the Wollongong & Northern Leader, The Lake Times and The Kiama Independent having a readership of 113,400. As a young person I am aware of the lack of communication between the churches, youth groups and youth ministries within the Media. I am also aware of the importance of the next generation of the church and want to make a difference. I have contacted a lot of the churches in the Illawarra about this subject and all of which seem to be interested and think that what I am doing is a great idea. I would love all the local churches to start advertising their youth events and what they can offer the youth of the communities within their church and organisation. And have made up a proposal that I have sent to the churches that I have contacted.” Click here for Information (*.pdf file) to look at and here for rates (*.pdf file)
