RISE UP 2003
In October 2003, the first Rise Up event was held in the WIN Entertainment Centre, Wollongong. 5,300 people from nearly all Christian denominations gathered together for a time to a time of celebration, praise and prayer for the region. The attendance exceeded all expectations.

80 Ministers, pastors and priests walked in procession with candles to the platform and stood in unity together... it was a moving sight!

 

Rise Up 2004
Held on Friday 29th October 2004 - again at the WIN Entertainment Centre in Wollongong.
 

Around 4000 people attended the main event, with a further 2000 attending the Rise Up Youth event which followed at 9.15 p.m.



The "Illawarra Mercury" reported on 1st November:

"Churches rise to pray.... Close to 7000 people packed the WIN Entertainment Centre on Friday for a prayer meeting and Christian rock concert designed to instill hope... Prayer focussed on a range of concerns, including social justice, healing and reconciliation."

RISE UP ILLAWARRA NO LONGER FUNCTIONS!
The organization was finally closed in 2007 not being able to function effectively any longer.
