Vision

The vision behind the Illawarra Pastors Network can be summed up in the following concept:

Recognizing that the Illawarra is a beautiful place in the natural, we want to see the Illawarra a beautiful place in the Spirit - a place where the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is glorified in His Church, in every individual, in all the structures of the society, and a place from which the ‘Faith of Steel’ is exported to the nations of the world.

 Core Values

 The following are core values of the Illawarra Pastors Network:

  • God’s Glory above all
    Everything is meant to exist for the glory of God. He alone deserves praise and honour. His Will is supreme, and so God wants to be glorified in the city/region;

  • A Kingdom calling
    God’s Church, the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, has the high and holy calling of living to the glory of God and the advancement of His Kingdom – and ought, therefore, to “walk worthy of that calling” in character and purpose;

  • City Church a must
    “It takes a citywide church to impact a city”. Unity in the Body of Christ is fundamental to glorifying God and impacting a city/region;

  • Dependence is essential
    We can’t do the work on our own. Jesus said, “Apart from Me you can do nothing”. Therefore, prayer is fundamental to our being and our doing.

  • Leadership is a key
    The work of the Kingdom is first of all to be done under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church. Under His leadership, then, He gives gifts of leadership within the church to equip the Body for the work of ministry. Leaders are important in the local congregations, but there is also an important level of Citywide leadership to enable the citywide church to function properly.

  • Relationships between leaders are necessary
    For the citywide functioning of the church, it is necessary to have links between leaders for the proper working and filling out of the life of the church.

  • Care of leaders is important
    Since leadership is a key, the care of leaders is also important to see that they are being all that the Lord wants. That is the pastoral role of caring for one another, but also of specific ministries of caring for leaders.
